Curriculum Intent

Our aim is to deliver a high-quality Physical Education curriculum that has an ambition offer and inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in a broad range of activities that challenge students to overcome a range of barriers to become determined learners. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become socially, emotionally and physically confident, by gaining the knowledge and skills required to be physically literate in later life. Students will develop their passports to success by improving their inter-personal and leadership attributes and in doing so will build their autonomy and confidence.

Rotation Structure

Students work on a rotation spending 6 lessons on each activity.

    • Content: Develop knowledge and understanding of the components of fitness (cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, speed, strength, flexibility, agility). Define and apply via sports examples. Know tests used to measure components. Read, collect, and understand data. Fitness testing takes place to gather data for AEP coursework.

  • Half Term 2: Applying the principles of training / Preventing injury in PA and training
